The Centralized Kitchen of ISKCON Food Relief Foundation (IFRF) was inaugurated at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh on 31st October 2008. The Honorable Minister for Information, PR & Cinematography, Govt of AP, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy was the Chief Guest. Honorable Anam Vivekananda Reddy, MLA Nellore, Sri Rama Gopal (IAS) Dist. Collector Nellore, also graced the occasion. Dr Radha Krishna Das, Managing Director IFRF presided over the function. The premises for this Centralised Kitchen was made available to IFRF Nellore by The Govt of Andhra Pradesh. It was earlier occupied by the Dist Leprosy and Tuberculosis Hospital, Bhaktavatsala Nagar, Nellore. ISKCON Food Relief Foundation will implement the Midday Meal Project for the benefit of 15,000 students from 41 High Schools in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore Dist. in the first phase. The menu will consists of rice, sambar and butter milk, kitchdi, lemon rice, sweet rice, curry, corn flakes sweet pongal, and hot pongal. The midday meal will be served from Monday through to Saturday, the menu will be changed daily. The project cost more than Rs. 50 lakhs to set up, this was in part to meet the Governments guide lines for the standard of the kitchen, and to meet the dead line for starting the program. We have taken loans for the vehicles and have not fully paid for the kitchen equipment. We therefore require your help to clear our outstanding payments and loans.
